Hai-Ou Hou was born in Beijing, China and got her B.A. from the National Academy of Fine Art and Design in her home city. After graduation, Hai-Ou Hou taught in Hu Bei Fine Art College in Wu Han China, after five years teaching, She immagrated to US and got her M.F.A. from Towson State University.
